Bat Boy Walter Klyce
Walter Klyce auditioned for Bat Boy only because he thought it was the musical version of Batman Begins. Although he was (sadly) mistaken, he's since persuaded the director to adapt the show to parallel Bruce Wayne's own bildungsroman, complete with utility belt, rubber nipples, and an unnaturally low, gravelly voice.
Shelley Parker Samara Oster
Samara Oster '13 plays Shelley Parker. Samara hails from Brookline, MA, meaning she clearly did not move far enough away for college. She currently lives in a beautiful, giganitc single, with 5 windows, in Hurlbut, and she's very happy about that (the union dorms are the closest to Berryline). She went to Milton Academy (along with the rest of Harvard), and has been doing the musical theater thing for quite some time. Some highlight moments/roles include: singing with the Boston Pops (opening for Brian Stokes Mitchell, and performing with Nathan Lane), singing with Celine Dion, A Chorus Line (Diana), Ragtime (Sarah), workshops with Stephen Schwartz, Marc Shaiman, Stephanie J. Block, and, of course, Larry O'Keefe! Samara also enjoys jazz singing, and performs with the Harvard Jazz Band. Love and thanks to my family and friends. Xox
Meredith Parker Megan Amram
Megan Amram recently donated 10 inches of eyebrow to Locks of Love. Locks of Love tars, feathers, and eyebrow-hairs lepers, right? If not, please kindly return my donation. God is great!
Dr. Thomas Parker Adam Lathram
Sheriff Reynolds Ryan Halprin
Ryan missed out when his high school put up Batboy because he was too busy with the Badminton Olympics in Beirut. He didn't play but was actually a "birdieboy," collecting the birdie when a player hit it into the net, just like in other sports. One day Ryan hopes to return to the pitch - until then he will continue to practice by picking up beer cans and pebbles and squirrels, just like in other sports.
Mrs. Taylor (Roy, Institute Man) Gus Hickey
Gus tried it. Just once. Is that weird? Well, it was college, so it's OK. Gus means that no one goes through college without that experience. Of having your entire body shaved by a gypsy. At least Gus knows Gus doesn't. Tonight, the show you will be watching is performed entirely by humans shaved entirely by gypsies. Gus apologizes for the convenience!
Rick Taylor Jonathan Finn-Gamino
Jonathan Finn-Gamino, a sophomore, likes cats.
Ron Taylor (Clem) Brandon Ortiz
I know this is shameless self-aggrandizement, guys, but Brandon will soon publish his newest work, Oaf Faces, a coffee table book of photos of ogres at the point of climax. It's kind of like Post Secret and will be available everywhere Post Secret is sold.
Ruthie Taylor (Ned) Maya Sugarman
In this show, Maya loses a library book (the latest story from the Scare-Your-Pants-Off series), and she searches and searches everywhere for it. Mystified by its disappearance, Maya does what any child her age might do in this situation: wonder if the scary book walked off somehow by itself. She then interrogates all her friends at school, and has nightmares about what could happen if she never finds the book. Eventually Maya finds that the person who found the book was the last person she thought might have it, and learns that even overweight bulldogs like to read. Then she eats two cupcakes."
Pan (Bud) Sam Linden
Sam Linden is often confused for a hobbit.
Maggie Caroline Giuliani
In preparation for this complex role, Caroline Rose Giuliani has taken weekly, OFA-sponsored trips to Alaska to study the art of politics and public service (once a week was all the Batboy production team could squeeze out of the budget given Harvard's recent cutbacks). Caroline wants to make it clear that Mayor Maggie is only loosely based on the political mentor she encountered during her Alaskan experience and all names have been changed in the creation of this character to ensure her...their... privacy.
Lorraine Cassandra Rasmussen
Cassie (2013) has recently been inducted into the Cult of Bat Boy. In this production she plays the role of Lorraine. She is also a part of the Revival Chorus, the Scary Chorus, the Not-Quite-As-Scary-But-Still-A-Little-Sketchy Chorus, the Just-Plain-Creepy Chorus, and also the Chorus of San Bovine. Since this is her first production at Harvard, she would like take this opportunity to thank God, Jesus, and also Tennessee Williams. Thanks so much y'all!
Daisy Haley Bennett
Haley Bennett is a freshman from Maine, living in Mass Hall (represent!) She likes devoting insane amounts of time to her extra-curriculars, such as teaching for Citystep (go 2YP!), singing with the amazing Radcliffe Pitches, and of course rehearsing for awesome musicals (yay, Batboy!) She is excited to be playing Daisy, a Hope Falls resident who enjoys rolling her eyes, chewing gum, and trying to get back with her baby-daddy.
Mr. Dillon/ Doctor Daniel Kroop
Daniel Kroop (Adams 2010) is the interstitial tissue who passes the electrons of fun through the veins of LOL. In Bat Boy, he plays Mr. Dillon, two Doctors, a townsperson, a Walter Klyce body double, an assistant director, an elephant trainer, and a poster webmaster chief of secretary of defense props. Mr. Dillon is the star of the show, "Mr. Dillon," which you are watching.
